The Mafra National Palace is the most important symbol of Baroque architecture in Portugal, built in the 18th century.Located in the heart of the village of Mafra, it is the only National Monument that includes a Royal Palace, a Basilica and a Convent.A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019, it has over 40,000 m2 and 1,200 rooms including unique spaces and instruments. This is the case of the Library with a collection of over 36 thousand volumes, the bell set consisting of two chimes with a total of 98 bells and the 6 organs that echoed again in the Basilica in 2010.Near Mafra, by the sea, we find the traditional fishing village Ericeira.We became World Surfing Reserve in 2011, (the 2nd globally distinguished reserve and the only one in Europe).
